phantomas: (not dead 'm writing)
[personal profile] phantomas
I'm gearing up to start writing Pros again (in a fannish and academic way both), so...here goes.

Give me one of my own stories, and a time stamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or in the past before it started, and I'll write at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

I think it was probably my third love, but definitely the first I actually needed to write seriously for - the fandom I got my toes wet with :) I shall be off reading first chance I get! :)

YAY!
I camn say first in terms of Love, fandom wise I was first involve with Highlander, simply because I had no idea previously that fandom existed at all, not to mention a fandom for a show then finished 20 years before :D
Then I found The PRofessionals tapes at a Virgin store when I was in Manchester for a HL convention...and a yahoo groups list...and it was Pros love galore :D

:)

My first was X-Files, but I read and never wrote. SG1 was next, I read a lot and I tried to write (just 3 fics), but it was me writing something I wanted to read (scenario wise) and the execution was really bad :) Like you I found a Pros yahoo group after I got into the show, and damn but the writing is good on the group, and I really wanted to emulate that quality. It took a lot of attempts (and a lot of help from a good beta) before I could say I was actually proud of some of the fic I wrote :) But I do class Pros as my first writing fandom and even though I don't do much with it these days, I do love it very much.

Pros love is never ending *g*
I've been active in the fandom since ..1996/1997 and although Supernatural later and rp writing previously have distracted me, still, Pros has something that other shows don't have :)

I've always been a writer, I used to write original fiction in Italian anyway before I entered Highlander fandom, but I started writing HL in English pretty soon (as to quality, erm, nothing more than decent. I'll dig it out sometime! *g*) and maybe because I write in a second language, I have always used betas and editors, by default.
That is, I always had help :D
Fandom is great :D

(I watched Xfiles, but it was aired here erratically, and dubbed in a weird way...I'm fannish about Krycek/Nick Lea and I appreciate the series, but am not fannish about the show - though I bought it all, because it's damn good telly ;)

When you get a good beta it's like a gift from the gods, suddenly those plots and fics that weren't working can be discussed and suddenly you have something that actually works! I think I need to dig my Pros DVD's out :)

yes yes :D
I always use more than one (beta/editors), for different things according to their strenghts. Unless it's something very short, like a drabble or similar, or I'm dire straits, a la Yuletide Madness 8even though I did find a beta deep during Christmas night for my Sandman ficlet, LOL)

OH! We're doing a synch-up collective watching, I think on Mondays nights at 9 pm. I haven't been able to participate yet (no Pros tapes/dvds here, I have them all in the UK)- we just basically watch the ep and then post about it, but we do it at the same time, as if it was airing on the telly :D
it's FUN! :D

You're playing! Wonderful, because I've been dying for the follow-up to "Yet Another Wednesday Morning" for years.

Precisely, this line, Bodie's pov:

"But he would be back on those very steps, that evening."

So, that evening, when Doyle gets home from work and Bodie is waiting for him.

Don't encourage her! *ggg*

I'm looking forward to sit down and write Pros, to be honest. Already there are ideas babbling up! :D

For YEARS!!
SORRY!!!

:D

Better if it's happy, right? ;) I can't honestly assure it, but I'll do my best to at least not make it so that Doyle just growls and shuts the door in Bodie's face. I mean, he still might, he probably will, but I'll have something MORE than just that. Promise. And no one will shoot anyone else ;) I think. *hides*

:D
