Update, Mimi, me, books and fandom love
Apr. 15th, 2008 06:37 pmBack in the UK! With only a minor delay! *humps PC* although, PC, you are not as cool and brand new and as fast as the new parents' PC...still...MINE! *humps a bit more*
I feel like humping you all, as well, o' f-list of mine. Sorry *G*
I'm tired and full of new and old things to do (oh gods laundry! groceries done already), starting a teaching course tomorrow morning, and waiting for Supernatural to come back, and looking forward to catch up with Doctor Who, which I managed to miss completely...but, THANK YOU ALL so much for all the advice/suggestions/support about my cat Mimmi.
Yesterday Mimmi ventured about the house and visited the kitchen twice at meals time, as he used to do before getting ill. There is little to do about the cancer - we don't feel like subjecting him to a biopsy and chemo, it would be very traumatic and equally potentially lethal, but we can make sure he doesn't give up right away and all your advice has been incredibly helpful and supportive and I am so very grateful, can't say it enough.
I'll probably fly back for a few days soon to check the situation - although my brother is in chanrge and he cares, he's just one person and simply doesn't have the relationship with Mimmi that I have (even if I left him, my four-legged furry love of my life, which I feel horribly guilty about it).
The other cat, Zorro, is obviously terribly jealous but it seems that he is coping and we try to not make him feel neglected. *crosses fingers*
Am full of fandom love right now. No particular reason, just, you're there and I'm here and we are all a bit crazy at times and love our shows and it so brilliant and so great to have such a group of people/place to find respite in. Especially a certain SPN comm that just cracks me up ;) and
papawinchester, which I love deeply and I need to tend to.
Books-wise, whileI was home I've re-read for the ..I-lost-count-time The Plague Dogs, by Richard Adams. I always cry at the last few pages. Can't help it. Some parts of the books reads to much like a natural guide, but truly, it's a great story, with great characters. I'd love to know if some of you have read it and what you think about it. Also, Snitter and Rowf...such a couple ;)
Anyway, me chatty. *hugs you all*

Date: 2008-04-16 12:42 pm (UTC)I've not read Plague Dogs because I've heard it's sad, which doesn't really make much sense considering I've read Watership Down *g*!
