SPN, books, bday, gadget
Apr. 18th, 2008 06:52 pmWorking on email backlog *crosses fingers*
Watched SPN's Jus In Bello earlier (I'm nostalgic, WHERE IS MY SHOW?), and I have decided to rewatch the eps backward - I know season 2 and 1 much better than season 3, because, well, overall, I didn't like season 3 as much as I liked the previous two seasons.
I don't dislike it at all, just, it's missing something and I feel it. I suppose, in part, it's the fate of all stories that move from the individual quest (find Dad/revenge Mom) to the epic (save the world). Yes, there is a 'save Dean' issue there as well, but the demons at large and the incoming/present demonic war seems to be paramount...somewhat like the difference between the Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King (books more than films, but those too to a certain extent).
I am looking forward to the next four episodes, and I have tried not to click on any spoilers...and failed, of course!!! Still, I'm quite spoiled and hope to stay so.
Not many days left till the 24th!
Also, it'll be my b-day on the 26th of April. Last year I tried to hide as much as I could, this year, if you feel like saying something nice (or not nice, that's good too! As long as it is constructive), or post a pic of a favourite (mine or yours, it's all good) or a drabble or anything else...please do. Thank you :)
On the books side of things, I have finished reading Mister B. Gone, byClive Barker. Interesting read. I liked the setting, and the focal point having to do with words, and The Word, and Demons and Angels fighthing is alwyas a plus. Not one that I would re-read and at some point, I found the narrator's voice somewhat fastidious. Still, worth reading.
Also...*points* Amazon Kindle...not sure if I wantz, but iz intrigued...:D

Date: 2008-04-18 10:12 pm (UTC)I can & have watched S1 & 2 so many times, its like Rocky Horror, but very few eps of S3 are worthy of even one rewatch. Ones I liked, after a rewatch... its just kinda meh.
Hoping for better things next season and hoping that the writers got recharged, because the writing has really been sub par this season and the plots are just not my thing. In the past, if I didnt like a plot, at least the writing blew me away....now, its almost down to Jensen ogling as my reason to watch.

I basically agree with you, S1 and S2 I rewatch happily, S3 I barely know.
