To get the fandom squee out first....
Introduction post HERE
What is that, you may ask?
It's a community for fans of the Point of Hopes and Point of Dreams books, by Lisa A. Barnett and Melissa Scott: "discussion and fanworks of all types (fic, art, icons, vids if you can work out how to vid a novel). Discussion and fanworks related to Melissa Scott's other novels are also welcome," as the userinfo page says.
Point of Hopes and Point of Dreams are two excellent fantasy books, whose main characters are losely avatars for Bodie and Doyle from The Professionals (it's really so clear there is no point denying it), but they are excellent because of the world-build up they do, the details, the plots...wonderful, wonderful books (and yes, absolutely NOT heterocentric and slash-friendly!!!).
You don't have to be a Pros fan to enjoy them, at all, that's just an added bonus. If you feel like reading something well plotted, intriguing and adventurous and imaginative, do pick the books up and give them a try, seriously.

I've been reading through the excellent links collection compiled by
rydra_wong, HERE (kudos and bowing to
rydra_wong for providing such a resource), and OHMY. There is a little I can say, really, the amount of FAIL is impressive, and as a white woman, I know that my place is to stand aside and listen and learn - as a woman, I know that I want to hear female voices, more and more - as an Italian, I want to make a little space for my own culture, a nieche, where not all Italians in films and books are gangsters/mafiosi, or catholics, or immigrants, or spaghetti-eaters, or have big families,...inasmuch as I find myself in the position of someone who has actually moved to an English-speaking country and partly embraced it, though, so, yes, controversial in my self of all places, but I did it because...my corner of the world felt so small...
Anyway, in between all the links, these jumped out at me:
