Films and stuff
Dec. 27th, 2008 08:30 pmHeadachey.
Missing kiltboy.
Struggling with decisions (I always want to do everything, lol).
Knitting scarf for niece.
Anyway.
Recently watched:
Inkheart: reading the book now, to see how it compares to the film. The film was pleasant, couple of entertaining hours, Paul Bettany's character (Dustfingers) was eminently lickable and the slash inclined among us would have no problems in finding subtext to play with, between him and Silvertongue/Mo (Brendan Fraser) and even the Very Evil Capricorn, aka Andy Serkis in brilliant form.
Transformers: I gave up after a hour of film and dozed off, sorry. I liked the big 'bots lots and would be happy to read human/'bot combos and variations, but was headachey already and so...(alos liked whatshisname from TV series Vegas, btw).
Ong-Bak: coool. Basic revenge story, but lots and lots of crazy martial arts fighting. Great fun *nods*
If I were up to it, I'd organize a Krycek-fest. Been wanting one for a while. Anyone willing/interested in participating/organizing/providing ideas?
ETA forgot! and yet it did make a BIG impression: Way of the Gun (with Benicio Del Toro and Ryan Philippe)...ohhh, the subtext there! A sort of modern remake of Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid, in more ways than one, with a great James Caan too! One I will want to rewatch :)

Curiosity killed the cat...and randomness
Apr. 5th, 2008 12:41 pmAnd I'm the cat, obviously
..will someone have pity on me and point me to this Jason Manns' posting defence of the price for the single he produced (with him and Jensen singing?)
Pretty please?
I keep seeing it mentioned and can't find it.
RL
Ion, I'll be in Italy from the 8th to the 15th.
Watch me flying.
Watch me stressing.
A dragon would make it all much bearable...have to wait till July for the next Temeraire book!
And some fandom-related recs/links/stuff:
-
rhymephile has created a new M/K community:
mk_drabbles
- The 'Supernatural Virtual Season' written by
candygramme and
art_of_mayhem is here, long and delicious:
vss_spn
-
fluffy_o is writing an intriguing Dean/Krycek story, HERE ETA: the story is not locked :)
-
disanddat has written and uploaded to the Young Jeffrey Archive a short, saucy story involving Sharkey (Jeff's character from Uncaged and an OC related to Supernatural, "Uncle Dave", Detective David Winchester (since
franzi1981 says that Clive Owen looks like JDM it looks like a good casting choice ;).
The story is HERE.
Also!
Why Fandom makes RL bearable
-I spent a lovely Sunday lunch and afternoon with
elizabethoshea and
msmoat a few weeks ago: there was Pros fangirling, writing (fan)fiction pondering, RL chatting and overall I had a splendid time with two of my dearest friends whom I'd have never met if not for Pros and fandom - and
elizabethoshea cooks a gorgeous lunch, I tell you! It was wonderful to see you both :D *hugs you*
-A month ago I went to Edinburgh for the 10th anniversary of the Marcus Testory Appreciation Society, and I had a grand time. I have notes for a con/meet report, maybe I'll get round to write it eventually! *waves to
franzi1981* Always great to see you, dear :)
-The Milton Keynes SPN convention was brilliant too. Again, I do have notes for a con report, but, erm...maybe one day (next year???) I'll be able to write it down coherently. A great time was had by all, and there was fangirling: lovely to meet more of you UKers! (and a few from Europe as well!) Looking forward to next year's UK SPN con :D
- I finished my very own first knitting project! I'm looking forward to start my second and third, chose the patterns alrready, need to buy the yarn. Crappy knitter here, but it's fun and I enjoy it and it's been very soothing in these stressing past weeks. (okay, not fandom-related, but randomness, yes?)
-I have stuff to finish making for people (graphics for SC, burning copies of TV shows etc), I'll get to it asap.
And last but not least:
a HUGE round of applause for
doccy, please!
I bought
doccy's mad cookie-making skillz for the extra Sweet Charity auction, and the cookies were PLENTY, DELICIOUS, and were DEVOURED by the household in the turn of a couple of days! I'll be first in line if he decides to offer his cookie-making skillz again *nods* :D I've been told there are pics of the cookie-making Adventure...me, I didn't stop munching for long enough to actually take pics. Erm. Sorry!

Because Krycek is...Krycek, and to Johnny Cash's music, well, damn, there goes the day's focus on RL stuff, doesn't it? *G*
ETA: Also! IF they are really going to make a new XFiles movie and Nick Lea isn't in it (Krycek possibly, but any other long enough part will be okay, too), damn but I am going to be really pissed off. Doesn't change anything, but the karma points will show!

ART: Krycek's Lair in the Nexus
Jul. 10th, 2007 05:53 pmNexus!Krycek has a few secret places he hides in, feral pretty boy that he is...
disanddat and
lorelei633 were discussing it and describing it and my fingers itched... (also, drawing, like knitting, is the best relaxing/anti-anxiety activity, I swear. Makes me feel good. Love it.)
...I'm getting SLIGHTLY better at using Painter. Slightly being the key word there ;) There are a few things that I really like in this illo, and some that I'm not as happy with, but it's always going to be a learning curve.
Any comment/critic very much welcome, tell me what works and what doesn't for you.
One final note: photobuckets shrinks the original due to its size (1000x800 px) - so the version under the cut is smaller than it should be and it suffers for it a little. I'll see if I can upload it somewhere else, and ETA accordingly if successful.
ETA: bigger size in LJ Scrapbook
I also apologise because I have to reply to email/comments, but couldn't face it yet

DOUBLE DRABBLE: Krycekian, sort of
Nov. 10th, 2006 10:53 pmtitle: not a question of money
character: Alex Krycek (Lexi Romanov)
rating: erm. bad words? bad deeds? no idea, help me out.
author notes: written for
disanddat and her Krycek :D
#####
It's not a question of money.
Aleksandr Romanov can certainly pay for the highest priced prostitutes available in his circles - and in a couple of circles outside his usual ones, too. He can pay for more than one 'escort', male, female, or two of both. Young, old, experienced, vergins, blonde, reds, dark haired. Whatever particular combination hits his fancy: he can pay for it.
Alex Krycek, however, finds it more fun to simply put himself out there, in the right kind of night clubs and bars, and see who wants him, enough to go to extreme lengths to have him. Very often, for a job or another, he has sold himself, whore himself out to open that safe, copy those documents, steal that file. He has killed, too. But in his free time, when that particular hitch tickles him...very little is as exciting as knowing that a casual pick up in a night club is ready to strangle a stranger in order to taste Alex's cock, dirty his or her knees for him, bend over with fresh blood still warm on their hands.
There's more power in sex than money. Alex knows that.
It's not a question of money.

ICONS: Krycek Krycek Krycek!
Jun. 28th, 2006 11:09 amI was/am doing a Project Krycek, ie. iconing all Krycek's X-Files episodes...but I sort of strayed so, uhm...yes.
That's still in my List Things To Do, but somewhat delayed.
I bring instead you a number of Krycek icons I made in the past three years (a few of Nick and a few from Nick's other roles too).
All of these were made for
disanddat, so she got first choice.
There will be inconsistency of style and experimentation :)
I suppose this is called Icon Dumping *G*
cross-posted to
100x100tv and
xf_icons
In a few cases, I've used brushes that weren't mine, but in all honesty I don't have the original files
anymore and thus can't credit the brushes author - if you recognise the brush, please let me know so I can credit.
Teaser

( 60 more under the cut - and I will learn to make pretty tables one day *g* )
