My cat Mimmi apparently has lymphatic cancer, we're waiting for more test results :(

I have 75 emails/comments to reply to in my inbox. Getting there. Sorry for the long wait.

I have decided to write 500 words daily, whatever the fiction. I have a long list of stories I need to finish/edit/work on and so on. Step by step, right? *G*

Have read three of Torchwood books:
Slow Decay, Border Princes and Another Life.

Also read Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. An interesting read, very easy. I really like the choices made in the TV series, though, relative to characters and a few changes of events.

645 words of tags.
Kind of a BLAH day. I suppose, getting closer and closer to going to Italy is starting to agitate me.
Tomorrow is another day...right?

*sighs*

On Writing

Nov. 30th, 2007 08:20 pm

[livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo ends today.
I have written, lots. Some finished stuff, which I posted already, and some unfinished stuff which I'm still working on.
It was a great experience, to get into that frame of mind - Writing Is Important for You - into that discipline - Must Write Every Day. No that I don't, or haven't, but the frame of mind, MY frame of mind, has been different.
And I'd like it to stay that way.
I haven't written every day, no, and on a couple of days I could have, I just didn't wanna.

Big nano, goes without saying, I haven't even started. LOL.

I always aim high *G*

But, I will keep the daily writing going. I'm going to miss the daily posting on the [livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo comm, though. I will have to post the daily count number HERE. Sorry about that. My mood has lifted immensely just by doing this simple task daily, for myself.
phantomas: (not dead 'm writing)
SPN, OZ/SPN, Nick Lea's Frank from NYPB and Dead & Breakfast drabbles/ficlets :)
All slash (but not explicit) but the last one.
total word count: 1200

(there's a second batch incoming, this is a first round)
Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] disanddat for her beta, all mistakes are mine.

[livejournal.com profile] lorelei633 asked for: Frank Callahan from NYPD Blue
Two drabbles here )

[livejournal.com profile] candygramme asked for: Supernatural, John/Sam
Double drabble here )

[livejournal.com profile] mytimehaspassed asked for: OZ crossed with SPN (Keller/Dean, and/or John)
and gets 700 words of SPN/OZ )

[livejournal.com profile] disanddat asked for Dead and Breakfast's The Sheriff: JDM :D.
This is the drabble that came out…AU, in that The Sheriff doesn't die at the end of the film, and also, clearly, I'm still assessing the character.I promise to do better next time, that is, tomorrow.

In other news *points at icon* I'm declaring my writing status as to the month of November.
Please bear with me, I'll kick myself into giving precedence to writing before anything else, so ping/email me if you need my attention elsewhere :)

*is excited*

ETA 2: written so very quickly for [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift scare-a-thon:

"They say it happens when you least expect it.
They say it's so fast you don't realize it.
They say it's just another phase.

But when it does happen...when the blade comes down, when the trigger clicks, when the door slams and there's no wind...when you look into the darkness and bright yellow eyes look back at you, then you know.

You do expect it.
It's not fast.
It never, ever ends."

ETA 3: had to have a nap *sighs* also, our Japanese housemate keeps having people for dinner (which means from 6 pm to 12 pm and onwards) without EFFING telling us!
Adding clips/rip to do for LD to list of Things to Do Today. *nods*

DRABBLES MEME
Post all fandoms you’re willing to write drabbles for. Commenters on this post get to request a drabble (indicate fandom and possibly character/characters).
(You can post this meme in your journal if you want to, no obligations).

Fandoms I can write for:

The Professionals
LotR
LotRPS (Viggo, Sean)
Harsh Realm
The Cutting Edge
Supernatural (specify if not John Winchester, or that's what you'll get ;)
XFiles
Roswell
Burn Notice
Dexter
OZ (I'm somewhat rusty, but willing to try)
The Unit
Kyle XY
HP (very very rusty, but could be fun! Although, characters have to be negotiated a little)
All (or almost) of Nick Lea's characters ;)
The Indian Runner
The Passion of Darkly Noon
The Prophecy (Gabriel, Lucifer)?
Watership Down?
Sandman (read until book 4)?
Angel
Buffy (if I really REALLY have to)?

I've dabbled/watched/read lots of other stuff, just ask. It's nice to stretch the writing muscles now and then. :D

A bit in advance, but as a note:

During November, I will be partecipating in NaNoWriMo and [livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo.
"Both?" you ask, "Isn't that a tad pretentious?" And well, I say, "yes it is." But I really want to write like crazy during November, and having different tasks and venues and prompts in one place and the other, my own ideas added to the mix...it will be challenging.

Which means, that I'll be still posting my random blabbery stuff about SPN and possibly Burn Notice (and The Unit, or Californication, or Dexter..and so on), and there will be the recurring mention of John Winchester, I suppose *G* and whatever else it is that I'm supposed to post about...but I'll probably be much lacking in comments. Or, totally absent in that department. If it means I'm writing, well, I'll be happy about it and I hope you'll be happy too :D

That said, I'm planning on posting both the NaNoWriMo and [livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo's daily writings here, as they are (no editing, random Italian words here and there when the English neurons of my brain aren't collaborating, and so on), but I do want to post them privately (because I hope to be able to clean up them at the end of the month and present/share them properly and in the appropriate communities/spaces - which is the very best case scenario, whereas the worst case scenario is that I want to hide it all as much as possible *G*)...so, if any of you wants in on the filter, just leave me a comment and I'll set it up.
Feel free to just read and/or point and/or laugh and/or cheer and/or offer feedback, I'll be fine with anything and everything including perfect silence/empty comment spaces - obviously, commenting will make me happier, but it's not requested. I want to post it daily so to give myself a feeling of accomplishment, which I badly need.

ETA: I just discovered that there is a NaNoWriMo LJ community too: [livejournal.com profile] nanowrimo, for those interested. I don't intend to partecipate much in the NaNoWriMo official site if not for doing the uploading of words stuff, because forums and chats are ideal for procrastinating! So I won't be joining this community, for the same reason (I am good enough at procrastination without external help, yes ;), but maybe some of you are interested.

[livejournal.com profile] beforeyouwrite is a writing community focused and dedicated to all those writers that write unusual or rare pairings in small, barely known fandoms. Let's say, a bit like Yuletide, but all the year long. If you have that secret, impossible, unusual pairing that will possibly ever be read because no one knows about it, and yet you love it so, well, join this community, write, post and read :)

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mytimehaspassed for opening it!

Written by [livejournal.com profile] temaris (full entry HERE).

White space, I've called it, the story in the margins, the subtext that isn't always just about finding the slash, but sometimes about finding the second story, read without reading, imagined in the description of a smile and the casual insults of people who don't need to be polite, and found in the small things. You know, the ones that are rather more important than you might at first glance think.

I can write PWPs and JustSmut and nonsense, but that..that...the white space, that's what I sometimes seek, when I really put my mind to it, when writing fanfiction isn't just a fun way to pass the time or please a friend, when I really care about what comes out of my pen, about what my fingers type on the keyboard, when I want not only to tell a story, but THE story, that's what I look for, that's what I cherish in other writers' fictions, when I find it.
That white space. :)
